We compare prices. That is the whole job.
PenCompare lists what UK providers charge for prescription weight-loss pens, with the date each price was last checked. We are not a pharmacy, not a prescriber, and not a clinic. Everything below is written so you can check our working rather than take our word for it.
What we do
- Publish what providers charge, at each dose, with the date last checked
- Show the complete cost — consultation, prescription and mandatory delivery fees included, not just the headline
- Check pharmacies against the GPhC register in Great Britain, and the PSNI register in Northern Ireland
- Rank organic results by lowest complete total, most recent check, then alphabetically — nothing else
- Explain what the medicines are, in plain terms, without recommending one
What we are not
- Not a pharmacy. We hold no stock and dispense nothing
- Not a prescriber. We cannot assess you and cannot issue a prescription
- Not a regulator. Checking a register is not the same as endorsing anyone on it
- Not a source of medical advice. Our guides are background, not guidance for your case
- Not able to tell you which medicine is right for you — and wary of any site that claims it can
How we make money, and what it does not buy
Some links on this site earn us a commission when someone clicks through to a provider. That is worth saying plainly rather than burying, because it is the obvious place a comparison site could go wrong.
So the ordering of our organic results is built to be immune to it. Commission, click-through rate and sponsorship are not inputs to the ranking query at all — the order is lowest complete total, then most recently checked, then alphabetical. Anything paid for appears in a separate area with a label, kept structurally apart rather than marked with a badge and mixed in.

Check our working
A comparison site asking to be trusted should be checkable. These pages exist so you can audit how a number on this site was arrived at.
How a total is built
Which fees go into the figure we publish, which are excluded because they are optional, and why the headline price is rarely the whole cost.
How old a price is
Every price carries the date it was last checked, and ages through defined states. A figure with no date attached is not a price, it is a memory.
Tell us we are wrong
If a price here does not match what a provider is charging, we would rather hear it than have it sit there. Corrections are logged, not quietly overwritten.
Where our limits are
Checking a pharmacy against a public register tells you it is registered on the day we looked. It is not an endorsement, it says nothing about the quality of care, and it can go out of date. We record when each check happened for exactly that reason.
Prices change without telling us. A figure here is what a provider was charging when we last checked, not a quote, and never a guarantee of what you will be charged at checkout.
And the biggest limit of all: we do not know your medical history. Nothing on this site can tell you whether a treatment is appropriate for you. That is a conversation with a prescriber, and there is no substitute for it.
