How PenCompare is funded

PenCompare is free to use. We do not charge visitors, and we do not sell medicines. We are funded through affiliate commission: when you click through to a pharmacy or provider listed on this site and go on to place an order, that provider may pay us a fee.

That fee costs you nothing. The price you pay is the price the provider advertises, whether you reach them through PenCompare or by going to their website directly.

What affiliate links do not affect

This is the part that matters most, so we will be explicit about it.

• Commission does not affect ranking. Our comparison tables are ordered by complete cost — the medicine price plus every compulsory fee. A provider paying a higher commission does not move up. A provider paying nothing does not move down.
• Commission does not affect inclusion. A provider does not need a commercial relationship with us to appear in a comparison table.
• Commission does not affect the prices we publish. Prices are checked independently against what the provider advertises.
• Commission does not affect our verification checks. Whether a provider is shown as verified depends on its regulator registration, not on its commercial relationship with us.

Sponsored placements

Some providers pay for placement. Where that happens, the listing appears in a separate, clearly labelled section outside the ranked comparison, with its own disclosure. Paid placements are never mixed into the ranked results and are never presented as though they had been ranked.

What we are not

PenCompare is a price comparison website. We are not a pharmacy, a clinic, or a prescriber. We do not supply medicines, we do not issue prescriptions, and we do not provide medical advice. Every clinical decision — including whether a treatment is appropriate for you — rests with the registered prescriber who assesses you.
