Patient Safety

Safety Guide & Checklist

Your essential guide to buying and using weight loss injections safely in the UK.

Before You Buy

Check for GPhC Registration

Ensure the online pharmacy is registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). Look for the green cross logo and a registration number.

Consultation is Required

Legitimate pharmacies will ALWAYS require a medical consultation (questionnaire or video) before prescribing. Avoid sites that sell without checks.

Price Seems Realistic

If a price seems too good to be true, it probably is. Check our price comparison tools to know the market rate.

Before You Inject

Check the Expiry Date

Always check the expiry date on the pen packaging before use.

Inspect the Liquid

The liquid in the pen should be clear and colorless. Do not use if it is cloudy or colored.

Read the Patient Information Leaflet

Familiarize yourself with how to use the pen and potential side effects.

Warning Signs

Do NOT use if:

  • The packaging looks tampered with or damaged.
  • The pen was not stored in a refrigerator (before first use).
  • The medication was sold by an unlicensed seller (e.g., social media, beauty salons).
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding.
