What is Saxenda (Liraglutide)?

Saxenda is a proven daily weight loss injection that has been helping people manage their weight for years.

Overview

Saxenda contains the active ingredient liraglutide. It was one of the first GLP-1 receptor agonists approved specifically for chronic weight management.

Unlike Mounjaro and Wegovy, which are weekly injections, Saxenda is taken once daily.

How Does It Work?

Saxenda mimics the hormone GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1).

It works by making you feel fuller, less hungry, and more satisfied after eating smaller amounts of food.

How Effective Is It?

In clinical trials (SCALE trials), people taking Saxenda lost an average of 5-10% of their body weight over 56 weeks.

While generally less potent than the newer weekly injections like Wegovy, it is still significantly more effective than diet and exercise alone.
